ICON steering wheels can easily be swapped out with an 18mm socket, a ratchet, and a mallet. Read the guide to removing ICON steering wheels.
Tools Needed: 18mm Socket, Ratchet or Impact Driver, Mallet
- Step One: Remove the front plastic cover of the steering wheel. Pull the top of the plastic
cover towards you, you will hear the clips release. The cover can be set aside at this time.
- Step Two: Remove the center nut holding the steering wheel to the steering shaft.
- Step Three: After removing the nut, re-thread the nut back onto the shaft a couple of
threads. At this point, using both hands to firmly pull the steering wheel towards you. This
should be enough to remove the wheel. If pulling on the wheel does not work, use your
rubber mallet, and hit the center of the nut while using your opposite hand to pull the
wheel towards you.
- To re-install, place the steering wheel on the splines of the shaft. Tighten nut by hand and
then tighten with ratchet/Impact driver. Place center cover over steering wheel and press
firmly at the bottom and top.
