How to Remove a Sport Steering Wheel

Tools needed: 18mm Socket, Extension, Rachet or Impact Driver, H3 Allen Key, Mallet

  • Step One: Remove the 6 Allen head screws around the trim ring. The trim ring, the center
    button, and the steering wheel will all be free from the steering hub.

Once the 6 allen heads have been removed the steering wheel may be set aside.

Pictured is the steering wheel with the trim ring and center cap removed.


Step Two: Hold the bare steering wheel up to the steering hub, re-insert a minimum of two
Allen head screws and tighten till snug.

  • Step Three: Using your extension, 18mm socket, and ratchet, remove the steering shaft
    nut. Thread the nut back on about 3 threads and give the steering wheel a few firm pulls.
    This should free the steering hub from the shaft and the assembly can be removed.
